As part of the Contact Sheet mentorship program, this intensive 6-month course focuses on the business side of successfully owning and operating a creative business. It will provide professional advice and valuable insights into converting your art to profitable business activity.  Each month you will be equipped with practical tools and tips, and the course will help you set clear objectives and goals. You will be supported to develop a detailed business plan, which will help you price your services to correctly factor in your time and expenses.  This intensive course is designed to deliver the following outcomes:•    How to develop the right strategy to achieve your aims. •    Detailed business plan with clear objectives, aims and targets. •    Identifying revenue streams and associated cost structures.•    How to price your product or service correctly.•    How to structure your business to work with accounting software.•    Understanding the role of your book-keeper and accountant. •    Steps in setting up a business, including GST and ATO requirements.  This course is ideal for creatives who are about to start up their own business, are in the first two years of a business or who want to review their business plan. Your Mentor Dale Hollingsworth  For over 15 years, Dale has worked with some of the most ambitious arts companies in Australia. Most recently, he was employed as Director of Corporate Services for renowned multidisciplinary arts centre Carriageworks. Previous roles included General Manager for the Australian Centre for Photography, Performance Space and Australian Design Centre.  Dale founded ARTANDBUSINESS in order to share his unique understanding of the financial and organisational requirements of arts and not-for-profit organisations. Dale’s training reflects his parallel interests in financial operations and social progress.
